Formation of varietal resources of winter wheat

The article highlights the specifcs of formation varietal resources winter wheat in Ukraine. It is shown that creation new varieties a long, laborious and expensive material intellectual process. scheme selection process complex includes at least 12 stages, during which various methods are used. Breeding work to create one variety takes 6–12 years. Analysis structure State Register Plant Varieties Allowed for Distribution Ukraine revealed as 2022, 661 were entered into Register, including 470 Ukrainian selection, 71.1 % their total number. Over past fve years, number has increased 1.7 times, from 273 2017 2022. During this period, foreign more actively, 2022 amounted 28.9 number, while they 19.9 %. majority created – 43.4%, recommended distribution all soil climatic zones Steppe, Forest-Steppe Polissia.
